Tour Details
Starting from the Republic square we will explain the essential modernization of the city after the Ottoman rule. In front of the Albania building we will talk about the first skyscraper in the Belgrade, along with the story of the intriguing name, and various architectural styles. Moscow hotel will provide us with the story of the lifetime in communist Yugoslavia, and geopolitical reasons behind that lifestyle. In front of the monument dedicated to the hanged patriots we will talk about Second World War on the territory of the Yugoslavia, occupation, and impacts in to the modern history. Parliament of Serbia will provide us with the story of the countries in the XX and XXI century that existed in this area of the Balkan peninsula. We will see revival of the medieval architecture in time period of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia with buildings of Telephone central and Saint Marks orthodox church. We will see leftovers of the NATO bombing of the National television station, and focus on the turbulent and tragic period of the ‘90s. Along with the Tašmajdan park we will see main Boulevard in the Belgrade and head to the second biggest orthodox church in the Balkans, Saint Sava Temple.
